When a youth arrives at Retreat 4 Kids, she is immediately set on a path toward restoration and healing. Using a comprehensive team approach case management, medical, mental health, and educational professionals begin to develop a comprehensive plan directed towards the individual needs of each child.
The Detox Program provides a short-term social model service designed to provide safe medical withdrawal from substances and case management to connect with follow-up resources in the community. It also serves those youth who would otherwise be transported by law enforcement or emergency medical services to jail or to one of the local emergency rooms. Retreat 4 Kids offers 24/7 Treatment Team services which ensures that clients detox in a safe environment. Ancillary medications will be available for the symptomatic treatment of withdrawal.
(MAT) Our licensed programs include Medically Supervised Inpatient Withdrawal, Stabilization, and Inpatient Rehabilitation, provide a unique opportunity and a supportive recovery environment for the provision of MAT within our continuum of care. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of pharmacological medications, combined with counseling and behavioral therapies, to treat SUD. The medications work by easing withdrawal symptoms from opioids and blocking its euphoric effects. Medications used in MAT are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and MAT programs are clinically driven and tailored to meet each youth’s needs to treat substance use disorders, sustain recovery, and prevent overdose.
The Retreat Residential Treatment and Assessment Program serves children who are determined to be a trafficking survivor, including a child:
(i) Determined to be a trafficking survivor as the result of a criminal prosecution or who is currently alleged to be have Been trafficked or exploited in a pending criminal investigation or prosecution
(ii) Identified by the parent or agency that placed the child in the operation as a trafficking survivor
(iii) Determined by the operation to be a trafficking survivor based on reasonably reliable criteria.
RETREAT 4 KIDS APPROACHES SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT THROUGH IMMERSION IN THE 12-STEPS PROGRAM, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP THERAPY, EXPERIENTIAL THERAPY, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES. RETREAT 4 KIDS TRAINED AND LICENSED COUNSELORS DRAW FROM A VARIETY OF THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES TAILORED TO EACH PATIENT. FAMILY THERAPY IS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE FAMI LY PROGRAM, AND THE ACTIVITIES THERAPY STAFF FACILITATE PHYSICAL AND SELF ESTEEM-BUILDING EXERCISES.
Retreat 4 Kids has proven success by rehabilitating youth from runaway and rescue into a life where they can thrive in their next steps after intensive treatment to a long term life of normalcy.
Established in June 2020, Retreat 4 Kids has continued to grow and increase capacity of youth we serve. We currently have residential contracts across Texas, with DFPS and Health and Human Services.
Staff with Retreat 4 Kids find fulfillment and joy in working with the population we serve. Receiving training over what is required, we operate as a family-model team with a faith based approach ensuring trust, not just amongst staff, but in our work with the teens. Residential care is a challenge, but with a strong team of like minded professionals we will continue to overcome and thrive.
Retreat 4 Kids has grown and thrived despite many obstacles. We continue to overcome hurdles that for most would prevent them from providing services. Our reputation among the community shows that we are the closest placement setting to a “home” in the region and are a preferred placement for youth.
The Retreat 4 Kids team focuses on comprehensive residential care for youth, with specialization in female youth survivors of sex trafficking . As well as issues with mental health and substance abuse disorders, our licensed program provides therapies for recovery that recognize when those challenges are co-occurring.
